Gourmet View

At the helm of the Asheville interior design and architecture firm, ACM Design, Amy Conner Murphy specializes in integrating the design of the exterior and interior to create a harmonious home design. In her entry, “Gourmet View,” Amy uses an abundance of wood to create a warm, cabin-like feel, while expertly blending blond and dark wood tones to keep the feeling light and fresh. One of the best things about this this kitchen is the gracefully arched transom window, which helps to flood the room with light and provides a lovely tree canopy view that can easily be enjoyed from a seat at the island counter.

Blue Plate Special

Winston-Salem interior designer, June DeLugas, of June DeLugas Interiors, has used her exceptional design skills and wealth of experience to bring the homeowners’ visions to life for over 25 years. In her entry, “Blue Plate Special,” we can see her passion for incorporating color, texture, and art into a design. Cheerful sunlight pours through perfectly placed windows, while crisp, clean white cabinetry is contrasted by pops of bold blue, both in the herringbone backsplash and the hanging decorative plate. The large chalkboard adds a bit of whimsy, as well as an ever-changing piece of artistry to this bright and airy space.

Baked With Love

For thirty years, Asheville interior designer Kathryn Long of Ambiance Interiors has specialized in creating spaces that are comforting and welcoming, yet feature a signature touch of artistry that makes them truly special. Her entry, “Baked With Love” is no different. This cozy kitchen is both inviting and ideal for the homeowner who loves to cook for family and friends. Beadboard accents on the cabinets, classic cookware fondly placed on open shelving, and a simple, yet lovely wooden kitchen island give this kitchen the heart, warmth and artistry Kathryn is known for. Meanwhile, the space maintains a fresh and current feel, perfect for the cook who enjoys creating masterpieces in this just out of the oven

This entry, submitted by Raleigh interior designer Anita Oates, of Otrada LLC in Raleigh, is a stellar example of Anita’s ability to add both the “wow” factor and a sense of serenity and order to a space. In this kitchen, the eye is immediately drawn to the beautiful coffered ceiling, which adds in wonderful touch of drama and classic artistry, and the hanging barn door, which offers a delightful touch of rustic charm. Meanwhile, the simple white cabinetry and minimalist styling make this a serene place to cook, dine, and enjoy oneself with friends.
